Pastor James Dixon, Jr.

James Dixon, Jr. was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. He is the youngest son of James and Shirley Dixon. He was educated in the Baltimore County Public school system and graduated from Milford Mill Academy in 1997. He graduated from Coppin State University with a Bachelor of Social Work degree in 2011; He then again graduated from Morgan State University with a Master of Social Work degree in 2013.  On October 2, 2004 He married the former Ms. Latrice Andrea- Chanelle Douglas. Together they have achieved much success and have three children together, David Jeremiah Dixon, Dean Elijah Dixon, and Dillon Michael James Dixon.

Pastor James A Dixon knew at a very young age that he was called to preach. On March 16 2011, he fulfilled the calling upon his life and preached his initial sermon.

Since then God has continued to show him much favor and in June of 2013, he accepted the position of Ministry Liaison with his Home Church, The Charity Church. There, under the leadership of his Pastor, Elder Tyrone Thomas, he has grown and matured in ways that he could not have imagined and on March 9, 2018 James completed Baptist catechism and was ordained as elder.

On June 15, 2020 in the midst of a pandemic God showed up once again as the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church formerly under the leadership of Dr. Ronald C. Williams unanimously voted him in as the 5th pastor in the Church’s history.  Pastor Elect Dixon preached his first pastoral sermon on Sunday July 1, 2020.

Elder Dixon continues to give God the praise, glory, and honor knowing that if it were not for God’s grace and mercy, things would have worked out a different way for him.
